Benoît Assou-Ekotto is a football defender from Cameroon. He started his professional football career as a youth player for Len when he was 10 years old. He played for the said club’s youth team for 10 years before joining the senior team in 2004. After two years with the team, he was signed by Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. He was loaned to Queens Park Rangers from 2013 to 2015. After the end of his loan deal, he moved to Saint-Étienne on a year contract. He later joined Metz in 2016.
At the international stage, Assou-Ekotto made his first appearance for the Cameroonian National Team in 2009. He represented his nation in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
