Career
After a successful career as a youth playing with local teams Andorinha and Nacional, and then with Sporting CP, Cristiano Ronaldo signed with Manchester United to start his professional career. He was the club's first Portuguese member. He had a great start with this club as a frequent goal scorer. In 2009, Ronaldo was the world's most expensive player because he was traded to Real Madrid for 80 million euros, and he continues to play there until 2018, scoring 292 goals in 311 appearances he made for the Spanish outfit.
He returned to play for Manchester United in 2021 after spending three seasons with Italian giants Juventus. During his time with Juventus, Ronaldo won many accolades including winning the Serie A two times.
Ronaldo has also played for Portugal's international team. In 2008, he was the FIFA World Cup Player of the Year. And in 2016 he won the UEFA European Championship with Portugal. He was captain of the team during the tournament.
