About Brian Dennehy
Brian Dennehy was a multi-award winning American actor who first came to worldwide prominence when he appeared in the iconic 1982 action film "First Blood", which also starred Sylvester Stallone. He went on to star in many top films such as 1983's "Gorky Park", 1985's "Cocoon" and 1996's "Romeo + Juliet" and 2000's "Death of a Salesman".
Some of his notable television credits include the likes of "Dynasty" "The Last Place on Earth" and "The Blacklist".
Personal Life
Dennehy was married twice. He was married to Judith Scheff from 1959 to 1974. His second marriage was in 1988 to Jennifer Arnott. In addition to Elizabeth Dennehy, he fathered five children.
Achievements
Throughout his five decade career, he won himself several notable awards, including multiple Tony Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
Death
Dennehy died peacefully at the age of 81 from natural causes on the 15th of April, 2020. His death occurred at his Connecticut home.
Trivia
On a number of occasions, Dennehy had claimed that he was Vietnam veteran who engaged in active combat during his tour, which lasted five years. However, the 1998 book by B.G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley titled "Stolen Valor" refuted his claims. Dennehy was later forced to admit he lied about being a Vietnam veteran. He subsequently apologized for that.
