About Bruce Paltrow
For 30 years, Bruce Paltrow worked in Hollywood as a director, writer and producer. Having debuted in 1973 as a writer and producer of the television film, “Shirts/Skins”, he went on to work primarily on television productions.
His best-known works include the television series “St. Elsewhere” and “The White Shadow”, both of which he earned executive production, writing and direction credits for. The two feature films he worked on were “Duets” and “A Little Sex”.
Family Life
He was a son of Arnold Paltrow and Dorothy Weigert, the co-owners of Paltrow Steel Company. He and actress Blythe Danner got married in 1969 – they stayed together until his death. His children are actress Gwyneth Paltrow and film director Jake Paltrow.
Achievements
He was nominated nine times for the Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on “The White Shadow” and “St. Elsewhere”.

He died from pneumonia and oral cancer complications on October 3, 2002.
