About Carl Czerny
The Austrian composer Carl Czerny also doubled as a pianist and teacher. The talented musician was also of Czech origin and was quite popular during the Early Romantic and Classical eras.
Early Life
Czerny was born to Wenzel Czerny, who was of Czech origin. He was a prodigy and began playing the piano at the tender age of 3. His brilliance preceded him as he was called to study the art of music with Beethoven until 1804.
Career
The pianist's music was not just centered around sonatas and opera theme arrangements but also composed of symphonies and concertos. Czerny first performed publicly in 1800 when he played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor. The pianist also performed in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in 1806.
Death
Czerny died in 1857 and his possessions were donated to various orphanages and care homes since he had no family or heir.
