2010 WNBA Hall of Fame Inductee, 4-time WNBA champion, and Finals MVP, Cynthia Lynne Cooper-Dyke is a former Women's National Basketball Association player who also doubles as a coach and has had stints with popular teams such as Basket Parma and the Phoenix Mercury.
Early Life
Cooper enrolled and graduated from Locke High School and later enrolled in the University of Southern California from 1982 to 1986.
Career
Cooper played as a shooting guard and made her professional debut with the Segovia basketball team from 1986 to 1987. She also played for Basket Parma from 1987 to 1994 and also had a 2-year playtime with SC Alcamo from 1994 to 1996. Cooper also played with the Houston Comets from 1997 to 2000 and returned in 2003 but retired shortly after.
Career as a Coach
Cooper took on basketball coaching of teams such as Phoenix Mercury from 2001 to 2002, UNC Wilmington from 2010 to 2012, and Texas Southern from 2012 to 2013. Her dedication led her to win the CAA Coach of the Year in 2011.
Personal Life
Cooper married Brian Dyke in 2001.
