About Dennis DeYoung
Dennis DeYoung grew up as a lover of music. At the age of 15, he started playing the accordion in a band which had John and Chuck Panozzo as its other members. They were then called The Tradewinds. They later changed their name to TW4 after adding Tom Nardin, a guitarist.
In 1972, the group became known as Styx after they received their first maiden record contract. As the songwriter, producer and lead singer, DeYoung helped the band to issue many hit singles such as "Lady" and "Too Much Time on My Hands". He played pivotal roles in the recording of the group’s numerous albums including their eponymous maiden one.
Solo career
In 1984, the American musician began his career as an independent performer after the group went on break. That same year, he issued his maiden album which was entitled “Desert Moon” and contained hit songs like "Don't Wait for Heroes".
Acting career
Aside from his exploits in the music industry, DeYoung has also been featured in many movies. He made his debut in 2005 when he appeared in the film titled “The Perfect Man”. He has gone on to appear on other television series like “Celebrity Duets” and “Star Académie”.
Family
He’s the son of Loraine and Maurice DeYoung. He married his high school girlfriend Suzanne Feusi in 1970. Their children are called Matthew and Carrie Ann.
