Dizzee Rascal is a British rapper, music producer and songwriter who was catapulted into the limelight with the release of his critically acclaimed debut solo album Boy in da Corner in 2003. He rose to even greater fame with his follow-up albums, which churned out smash hits such as Dance wiv Me,Holiday, Bonkers and Dirtee Disco.
Achievements
In addition to winning him the Mercury Prize in 2003, his debut album Boy in da Corner turned him into the United Kingdom's first internationally recognized rapper.
He was the recipient of the Best British Male award at the 2010 Brit Awards.
Trivia
In 2008, his former girlfriend, model Kaya Bousquet, died tragically in a violent car accident on the M1 motorway.
He and professional Nigerian footballer Danny Shittu were childhood friends. According to him, Shittu was like a big brother to him.
