As a child, the actor discovered his dancing prowess and joined his family’s group, “The Royal Family of Vaudeville.” They toured America on several occasions with their dancing, acting, and comedy performances.

He acted in his first movie at age 11 in the 1937 musical film “Melody for Two.” O’Connor’s exceptional acting abilities earned him a deal with Paramount that saw him appear in most of their films in the late 1930s. Additionally, in 1941, he accepted a deal with Universal Pictures, making it possible to earn 200$ every week.
His most famous musical work would be “Singin’ in the Rain” in 1952, which earned him a Golden Globe Award. He was also a Primetime Emmy Award winner and had two stars on Hollywood’s “Walk of Fame.”

He died at age 78, on 27th September 2003, after battling heart disease.
