About Eddie Albert
Many people have argued that Eddie Albert’s time with the Escalante Brothers Circus, where he was a clown before the Second World War, helped him to discover his talent as an actor. After he returned from the war, he went into full-time acting and made his debut in the film “Brother Rat”.
Throughout his over six decades in the movie industry, Albert starred in more than 50 movies and television series. He’s widely known for his role as Irving Radovich in the film “Roman Holiday” which was released in 1953. His performance in the TV series “Green Acres” further increased his popularity.
Family
He was one of the children of Julia Jones and her estate agent husband, Frank Daniel Heimberger. He shared his childhood with his four siblings. He was married to Mexican screen goddess Margo. Their son, Edward Jr. would go on to become a top actor. The couple also had an adopted child called Maria.
Education
He was a member of the drama group during his time at Central High School. He later studied at the University of Minnesota
Achievements
He was nominated for Academy Award’s “Best Supporting Actor” prize on two different occasions. He has received the Bronze Star for his work in the U.S. Army.
Trivia
He was also a celebrated stage actor and appeared in many Broadway productions such as “Miss Liberty” and “The Music Man”.
The American also hosted quite a lot of television shows which include “Saturday Night Revue” and “The Eddie Albert Show”.
