About Ellen G. White
Ellen was an American author and one of the founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Also, her lifestyle made a lot of vegetarians in America look up to her.
Personal Life
She was one of the eight children her parents had. Her journey through Christianity started when someone threw a stone at her face. She mentioned that the incident made her look up to heaven and religion for comfort. Together with her family, she joined the Millerite movement though she was facing difficulty at that time. She believed she was a sinner and spent most of her time crying and praying. In 1842 however, she received baptism and became at peace with herself. About three years later, she married James Springer White.
Ministry work
Ellen was known to usually have visions in meeting halls and public places. Her first experience was in 1844 during a prayer meeting. Some described her as a very straightforward person. And most people liked to listen to her preach.
Achievement
She was known to be the writer whose work was mostly translated into different languages in literature history. She wrote several books and articles and was considered among the most-read authors in Brazil.
Death
Her husband passed on in 1881 and she died in 1915.
