About Ernst Udet
Ernst Udet was a German flying ace who recorded over 60 victories throughout his time in the military. He was one of the heroes during the First World War, becoming Germany’s highest scoring pilot to come out of the war alive.
Udet also played a pivotal role in the formation of the Luftwaffe, an aerial-warfare component of the Wehrmacht. During the Second World War, he served as the Colonel-General of the newly formed group.

A very dedicated member of the service, Udet was decorated with many honors including the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, the Iron Cross, and the Clasp to the Iron Cross.
