Throughout the 1942 Battle of Stalingrad, Friedrich Paulus was named as the commander of the German military unit known as ‘6th Army’. He also fought in the First World War.
He was known for his anti-N*zi campaign and joined the National Committee for a Free Germany at a stage in his life.
