About Gian Lorenzo Bernini
Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a renowned Italian sculptor – he is mostly credited for starting the famous painting style known as Baroque. Some of his famous works include “The Goat Amalthea with the Infant Jupiter and a Faun” and “Aeneas, Anchises, and Ascanius”. He was also an architect and designed lots of memorable structures like the Piazza San Pietro.
Family
His dad, Pietro Bernini, was also known for his art works. He grew up in the midst of twelve other siblings. It was said that he was romantically engaged to a lady known as Costanza in the 1630s.
Trivia
He worked for some famous personalities such as Pope Urban VIII and Pope Alexander VII.
