About Giorgio Napolitano
Giorgio Napolitano is an Italian politician best known as the 11th President of Italy, a position he held from 2006 until his resignation in 2015 at the age of 89. Prior to his presidency, he served as the Minister of the Interior under Prime Minister Romano Prodi.
Family Life
In 1959, he got married to Clio Maria Bittoni, with whom he fathered two children: Giulio and Giovanni.

At the time of his resignation as President of Italy in 2015, he had served as president for approximately 8 years and 244 days, thereby becoming Italy's longest serving head of state.
Due to his enormous influence in Italian politics, he is often nicknamed “Re Giorgio”, which means “King George”.
