Jane Addams was an American activist and social worker.
Her Highlights/Legacy
She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931. She is widely regarded as the founder of the social work profession in the United States of America. She was one of the reformers of the Progressive Era with the help of Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. She once stated on women's suffrage: "If women are to be responsible for cleaning up their communities and making them better places to live, they need to be able to vote to do so effectively".
