Jermaine Dye is an American professional baseball player best known for winning the World Series with the Chicago White Sox in 2005. He retired from baseball in 2011.
Early Years & Education
The California native attended Will C. Wood High School and later attended Cosumnes River College.
Professional Baseball Career
Dye was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 1993 draft. During his major league debut, he hit a home run. He played for the Braves until 1997 and joined the Kansas City Royals. He also played for the Oakland Raiders and the White Sox before retiring in 2011.
Achievements
Dye was a two-time All-Star. He won the World Series in 2005 and was named World Series MVP. He received the Golden Glove Award, as well as the Silver Slugger Award in 2000 and 2006 respectively.
