John Bonham was an English musician most popularly known as the drummer of the rock band Led Zeppelin, manning the drums from the band’s formation in 1968 until his accidental death in 1980. His drum style was notable for its speed and power, combined with his ability to quickly get into a rhythm. Bonham was reluctant at first to become the drummer of the would-be Led Zeppelin due to other offers which required the band’s manager, Peter Grant, to send him dozens of telegrams before he finally decided to hop on.
