June Carter Cash (formerly June Carter) was an American artist who hailed from a family of musicians (the Carter Family) and was well-known for her collaborations with her husband, the late Johnny Cash, which began in 1964 with the pair’s duet in “It Ain’t Me Babe” and continued with other hit singles like “Jackson” and “If I Were a Carpenter”.
Solo Career
June Carter Cash also enjoyed her fair share of solo success in music with songs like “Jukebox Blues” and "No Swallerin' Place". She released three albums in her solo music career: Appalachian Pride (1975), Press On (1999), and Wildwood Flower (2003). The latter two won Grammys in 2000 and 2004, respectively. And aside from a singing career she also had a career in acting, appearing in the drama film The Apostle and in the television drama series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
