About Kevin Clash
Kevin Clash is an Emmy Award-winning American puppeteer who made a name for himself puppeteering the popular Muppet character Elmo on the iconic children's TV show Sesame Streetfrom 1984 to 2012. He is also known for performing popular Muppets such as Benny Rabbit and Clifford. In 2006, he published his autobiography titled My Life as a Furry Red Monster.
Personal Life
He was married to Genia Clash from 1986 to 2003. The marriage produced a daughter named Shannon Clash.
Trivia
In 2012, a number of men accused him of sexually abusing them about 10 years earlier and filed lawsuits against him. The lawsuits were later dismissed as a result of the statute of limitations.
In addition to forcing him to resign from Sesame Street in 2012, the sexual allegations also forced him to come out publicly as gay.
