About Lina Medina
Lina Medina gained global fame after she gave birth at an unusually young age. The Peruvian, who is famous for becoming the youngest mother in history, was less than six years old when she had her first child.
As such, she is also considered to be the youngest confirmed female to attain puberty status.
Personal Life
Her dad was a silversmith named Tiburelo Medina and her mum Victoria Losea. She grew up together with 8 siblings. She had her first child, a son named Gerardo, at the age of 5 years and 7 months. In 1972 she gave birth to her second son.
She tied the knot with Raúl Jurado somewhere around the 1970s.
Trivia
When her parents the large size of her abdomen, they initially thought that Medina was suffering from some form of tumor. However, after several diagnoses from medical experts, it came to light that the Peruvian was 7 months pregnant.
Her son, Gerardo, was born via caesarean delivery and was named after her doctor Dr Gerardo Lozada.
According to the doctors who attended to her, she had her first menstrual cycle when she was just 8 months old.
