Mandrell was born to Irby Mathew Mandrell and Mary Ellen McGill. Her siblings include Barbara Ann Mandrell, who is recognized as a country music singer.
Career Highlights
Her older sister, Barbara formed a band called the DoRites in 1969 and Louise sometimes performed with the band. Few years later, she released the recording “Always Wanting You” and it became one of the most listened to songs in 1975.
In 1983, she released her first studio album “Close Up” which peaked at number 30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. Since then, she has released other albums such as “I’m Not Through Loving You Yet”, “Winter Wonderland”, “Personal” and “Playing Favorites”.
She signed with record labels such as RCA, R&J and Epic Records.
