About Maury Wills
Maury Wills was a baseball player and coach from the United States of America. He started his career in high school, winning several awards. In 1951, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, Wills was not featured in the Major League until 1959.
After spending several seasons with his team, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1967 due to a drop in performance. The following year, he joined the Montreal Expos. Wills later joined his former team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in 1969.
After Wills’ retirement, he became a baseball analyst and manager. He was in charge of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo of the Mexican Pacific League. Also, he coached the Seattle Mariners.

He studied at Cardozo Senior High School.

He was the child of Mabel and Guy O. Wills. He was the father of Bump Wills. He was married to Angela George.
Awards and Career Achievements
He was a two-time NL Gold Glove Award winner (1961 and 1962). In 1962, he won the NL MVP and MLB All-Star Game MVP. Also, Wills was a six-time NL stolen base leader (from 1960 to 1965).
He also won the World Series championship three times (1959, 1963, and 1965). Additionally, he was a recipient of the Hickok Belt Award in 1962.
