About Maxwell Perkins
Maxwell Perkins was a renowned American literary editor. He started his career with The New York Times as a reporter. In 1910, he was hired by the Charles Scribner's Sons publishing firm where he was an advertising manager before he was promoted to the position of an editor.
He worked on some great novels such as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1920 book “This Side of Paradise” and “Look Homeward, Angel” which was published by Thomas Wolfe in 1929.
Family
His father Clifford Perkins was a lawyer. His mother was named Elizabeth Evarts. He was married to Louise Saunders until his death, and the couple was blessed with five kids.
Education
After his education at St. Paul's School which is located in Concord, Perkins enrolled at Harvard College.

He discovered many writers including Ernest Hemingway, and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings.
Malcolm McDowell, an English actor, portrayed his character in the film titled “Cross Creek”.
He was trained by Charles Townsend Copeland.
