Margaret Foster transitioned from stage acting to the small screen in 1969. She followed it up with her film debut the year after. She has appeared in more than 60 films and has played over 50 roles in a variety of television series. Popular ones amongst them include Ingrid in “Ticket to Heaven”, Hester Prynne in “The Scarlet Letter” and Ali Tanner in “The Osterman Weekend”.

She was born to Nancy Adamson and David Foster. She was raised alongside a brother and three sisters. She is the mother of one son; Christopher. Her ex-husband is actor Stephen McHattie.

She earned a Genie Award nomination in 1982 for her performance in “Ticket to Heaven”.
