About Nerlens Noel
In spite of an injury and only a year of collegiate basketball experience, Nerlens Noel ended up as the 6th overall pick in the 2013 edition of the NBA Draft. He debuted in the NBA in 2014 as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers team, which bought his draft rights from the New Orleans Pelicans.
In 2017, he joined the Dallas Mavericks on a trade deal and played for one season before signing with Oklahoma City Thunder in July 2018. He moved to the New York Knicks in November 2020.
Family Life
He is one of three sons born to Haitian immigrants in the United States. He also has a younger sister.
Achievements
He was named as a member of the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2015. His first and only season of college football also saw him being named “Defensive Player of the Year” and “Rookie of the Year” in the South-eastern Conference.
Trivia
Prior to meeting Michael Carter as a 76ers teammate, they had played together on the same team in AAU basketball.
