About Ogden Nash
Ogden was an American asset who gained recognition for light poetry. He has also been named the most popular producer of humorous poetry in the country by “The New York Times”.
Personal Life
When he was born, he was named Frederic Ogden Nash. His father was into import and export so they moved around a lot. He loved word play since he was young and also loved rhyming and creating his own words whenever he could not find words to use.
In 1920, he got into Harvard University but did not complete it. About ten years later, he got married to Frances Leonard. His granddaughter by name Fernanda Eberstadt followed in his footsteps and also got into writing.
Career
He started his career as a bonds salesman then moved on to working as a writer. He started sharing some of his writings with “The New Yorker”. In 1931, he worked on a few poems titled “Hard Lines” that made him popular all through the country. He started featuring in radio and comedy shows. He then started lecturing students in universities and different colleges.
Death
In 1971, he was hospitalized for suffering from kidney failure. While going through treatment, he suffered a stroke but ten days later, he again suffered from heart failure and passed away.
