About Pat Buchanan
Pat Buchanan has made a name for himself as one of the strong political figures in the United States. Widely known as the first host of CNN’s “Crossfire”, Buchanan has also worked in the White House as the Communications Director for a number of Presidents including Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.
Political career
Ahead of the 1992 elections in the U.S., he unsuccessfully contested for the presidential spot of the Republican Party. He went again four years later, but came out with the same results. He went on to lead the Reform Party during the 2000 elections.
Other works
Aside from his political side, he has also worked as a writer. He’s one of the founders of The American Conservative magazine. He has also worked for some top publications such as the St. Louis Globe-Democrat.
He has published a number of books which include “A Republic, Not an Empire: Reclaiming America's Destiny” and “State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America”.
Family
He’s a product of the marriage between William Baldwin and Catherine Elizabeth Buchanan. He has eight siblings which include political commentator Angela Marie, popularly known as Bay. Since 1971, he has been married to Shelley Ann Scarney.
Education
He studied journalism at Columbia University. Prior to that, he attended Gonzaga College High School and Georgetown University.
