About Paul Konerko
Paul Konerko is a former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball for teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and the Chicago White Sox. He featured for the latter from 1999 to 2014. He is also best known for leading the White Sox to winning the 2005 World Series.
Career
The Rhode Island native played baseball in high school, where he was ranked the number one catcher during his senior year. He was drafted in 1994 to the Dodgers, playing for nearly five years before joining the White Sox. Between 2006 and 2014, Konerko served as team captain for the White Sox before retiring.
Personal Life
In 2004, Konerko married Jennifer Wells. As of 2021, they have three children, Nicholas, Owen, and Amelia.
Trivia
Konerko was the first White Sox player to score a home run at four different parks.
He is a fan of the band Metallica and the song “Harvester of Sorrow” was played during his walk-ups for the White Sox.
