René Juan Pérez Joglar, best recognized by his stage alias Residente, is a Puerto Rican rap artist, filmmaker and writer. He is widely noted as part of the founding members of the rap crew named Calle 13. Some of the albums he featured as a member of Calle 13 include “Residente o Visitante” and “Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo”. In 2017, he came out with his debut album as a solo artist entitled “Residente” which featured the track titled "Dagombas en Tamale" and "El Futuro es Nuestro".

In January of 2013, he tied the knot with actress Soledad Fandiño; their first child together, Milo was born in August of 2014. In 2017, he and Soledad divorced. He has been romantically linked to a model named Kasia Marciniak. He is the son of actress Flor Joglar de García.
