About Salvatore Quasimodo
Salvatore Quasimodo was one of Italy’s most popular poets during the 20th Century. In 1917, he created the New Literary Journal where he published his maiden literary work. Most of his poems touched on tragic life experiences, which made him very popular.
Some of his well-known works were titled "Life Is Not a Dream (La vita non è sogno)", "The Incomparable Land (La terra impareggiabile)" and "The False and True Green (Il falso e il vero verde)".

He was privileged to spend his early years with his parents Clotilde Ragusa and Gaetano Quasimodo.
Awards
Quasimodo was the recipient of the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature in 1959.

Before his writing career, he worked with the Civil Engineering Corps of Italy.
He created a great relationship with some prominent poets like Eugenio Montale and Alessandro Bonsanti.
