English-born novelist, Arthur Henry Ward, who was better known as Sax Rohmer, was renowned for his introduction of the infamous villain and master criminal, Dr. Fu Manchu who was a fictional character in some of his popular works.
Early Life
The novelist was born to William Ward and Margaret Mary.
Career
Rohmer published his first professional work which was a short story called "The Mysterious Mummy" in 1903. He later published "Little Tich" in 1911 and focused on writing his first Fu Manchu novel called, "The Mystery of Dr. Fu-Manchu" in 1913, which became an immediate success. He later went on to release a number of Fu Manchu books between 1913 and 1917.
Personal Life
The novelist married Rose Elizabeth Knox in 1909.
