About Stirling Mortlock
Stirling Mortlock is a versatile Australian rugby player who usually operates as a center or fullback. He has also been used at the wing position. Mortlock signed his first professional contract in 1998 with ACT Brumbies. Three years later, he helped the team to win the Super Rugby. He was named as the team’s captain in 2004, and seven years later he joined the Melbourne Rebels.
International Career
Mortlock was a regular member of the Australian rugby team between 2000 and 2009. He was a member of the team that got to the final of the Rugby World Cup in 2003. Three years later, he was named as the captain of the Wallabies. During his time with the team, he recorded close to five hundred test points.
Education
The rugby star had his education at Sydney’s The King's School.
His Honors
In 2002, he was voted as the Super Rugby’s “player of the year”. A decade later, he became a Member of the Order of Australia.

He retired from the sport in 2012.
