About Troy Percival
American pitcher Troy Percival played his first MLB game in 1995 as a player of the California Angels, which later became the Anaheim Angels. He was initially used as a closer which made him one of the key figures in the team. He played a role in the team’s World Series victory in 2002.
Three years after the success, he signed for the Detroit Tigers. Percival went on to feature for teams like the Tampa Bay Rays, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Coaching Career
Since ending his playing career, the American has worked as a coach. In 2010, he was hired by the Riverside Polytechnic High School where he worked as a pitching coach. He went on to work with Moreno Valley High School, before joining the baseball side of the University of California, Riverside.
Family
During the early stages of his career, he was coached by his dad Richard Percival. He has two children with Michelle called Cole and Avery.
Education
After Moreno Valley High School, he enrolled at the University of California, Riverside.
Accomplishments
He was selected into four All-Star sides.
Trivia
He retired from the sport in 2006, but returned the following year.
