A. D. King was an American minister who was heavily involved in the Civil Rights Movement. In fact, he is the younger brother of the leader of said movement of 20th century America, Martin Luther King Jr.Family Life
His father was Martin Luther King Sr. and mother, Alberta King. In addition, to his older brother he also has an elder sister named Christine King Farris.
He married a lady named Naomi Barber in 1950 and sired six children, Alveda, Derek, James and the late Alfred II, Darlene and Vernon King.

He was a graduate of Morehouse College.
He pastored churches in Georgia and Alabama.
As aforementioned, he was deeply into the Civil Rights Movement - like his brother - but opted to stay in the background.
He was in the same hotel as Martin Luther King Jr. when the latter was shot dead in Memphis, Tennessee.
He ultimately died from what has been officially listed as an accidental drowning.
Three of his children passed away from heart conditions.
