About A.j. Foyt
Anthony Joseph Foyt is considered as one of the greatest drivers in motorsport. During his active years, he participated in many popular events organized by international bodies like NASCAR, Formula One, and the United States Auto Club.
Before announcing his retirement from professional racing, the American driver won four Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the Daytona 500 among other events. In 1976, he won the International Race of Champions, and repeated the achievement the following year.

In 1965, the driver opened an American racing group known as A. J. Foyt Enterprises. The team is best known for its achievements in the IndyCar Series. They have also participated in a number of NASCAR competitions.
Family
He was raised by his parents Emma Evelyn Monk Foyt and Anthony Foyt Sr., a mechanic. He has been married to Lucy Zarr, and has three children named Terry Lynn, Jerry, and A.J. Foyt III.

Foyt briefly studied at St. Thomas Catholic high school.
Honors
His achievements have earned him a place a many halls including the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame.
Trivia
He’s the first driver to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500, the Daytona 500, and the 24 Hours of Daytona.
His 159 USAC victories made him the first driver to record that number of wins.
