About Arthur Schwartz
Arthur Schwartz, one of the most influential and successful personalities in the American entertainment industry, penned most of his well-known songs alongside lyricist Howard Dietz from the 1920s until the 1960s.
He worked on songs such as "Dancing in the Dark," "You and the Night and the Music," "I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plan," and "That's Entertainment".
Young Schwartz taught himself how to play the harmonica and the piano, and at 14, he started performing in silent movies.
In 1923, he released his debut song, "Baltimore, Md., You're the Only Doctor for Me."
He was inducted into several halls of fame including the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972.

He had two sons named Jonathan Schwartz and Paul Schwartz. He was married to Kay Carrington.
