About Baldassare Castiglione
Baldassare Castiglione was one of the most popular Italian diplomats during the 16th Century. He was best known for his courtesy book titled “The Book of the Courtier” which addressed the morality and manners of people who served at royal courts.
That aside, he also wrote a number of songs and sonnets. His work titled "Proud hills and you, sacred ruins (Superbi colli e voi, sacre ruine)" was one of his best sonnets.
