Bill is an influential English star who is a songwriter, conservationist, comedian and television presenter.
Personal Life
He was born to a chief accountant and his birth name is William Edgar Oddie. In 1967, he got married to Jean Hart and together, they had two girls including Kate Hardie who is also into acting. Their marriage fell apart and he later married Laura Beaumont-Giles who had a daughter with him.
Education
His love for sports made him join the rugby team when he got into King Edward’s School. Later, he moved on to study English literature at Pembroke College.
Career
He started working in production when he got into Cambridge University. In 1964, he was cast in “On the Braden Beat”. He later got featured in “Twice a Fortnight”. In 1970, he featured in "The Goodies”. He has also released a few books about birds. He started singing in the 1960’s and has released a few singles including “Nothing Better to Do”, “I Can’t Get Through” and “Because She Is My Love”.
Achievement
He was made an OBE in 2003 for his contribution to the conservation of wildlife. He has also received the RSPB Medal.
