About Derek Trucks
Derek Trucks is an accomplished American guitarist, songwriter as well as a Grammy Award-winning musician whose music has been well-received all around the world. His music spans a variety of genres, from blues to classic R&B, rock & roll, and classic jazz.
He however gained massive recognition after joining The Allman Brothers Band in 1999, appearing on albums such as "Peakin' at the Beacon," "Live at the Beacon Theatre," and "Hittin the Note and One Way Out," as well as sharing stages and jamming with legendary musicians such as Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, and Stephen Stills.
Following the band's success, he formed The Derek Trucks Band, which is known to have released several commercially successful albums such as "Out of the Madness ", "Roadsongs", and "Soul Serenade".
Additionally, he is also known to have founded the Tedeschi Trucks Band together with his wife musician Susan Tedeschi – their debut album “Revelator” received the Grammy award for best blues album in 2012.
Family
He was born to Chris Trucks and Debbie Trucks. He is a brother to renowned musician Duane Trucks.
He fathers a son called Charles Khalil Trucks, and a daughter Sophia Naima Trucks.
