About Fabio Grosso
Italian defender Fabio Grosso became a national hero after scoring the final penalty which earned his country the FIFA World Cup trophy in 2006. He played his first game for the Azzurris in 2003 and by the end of 2009, he had represented his country 48 times.
Career Highlights
Grosso played for a number of teams in his native country before rising to fame in 2004 when he signed for Palermo. After two years, the highly-rated left-back joined Italian giants Inter Milan where he won the Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana.
He also featured for Lyon and Juventus before ending his playing career in 2012.
Coaching Career
Grosso initially worked with the Juventus’ youth team before joining Bari as the head coach in 2017. Moving forward, he has managed teams like Hellas Verona, Brescia and Sion. In 2021, he was appointed as the head coach of Italian outfit Frosinone.

He has been married to a lady called Jessica Repetto.
Decorations
During his time at Lyon, he won the Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Trophée des Champions. With Juventus, he won the 2011/12 Serie A title.
In 2006, he was honored with the “Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” and the “Golden Collar of Sports Merit”.
