Before the fame and glamour, Farian started as a trained cook and worked in restaurants. In 1967, he stepped into the music scene and never looked back. Farian founded Bonnie M. in 1967. The band comprised dancer Maizie Williams, vocalists Marcia Barrett, Liz Mitchell and Bobby Farrell. Bonnie M. released many hit songs, including “Rivers of Babylon” and “Rasputin”.
Buoyed on by his success with Bonnie M., Farian formed a music supergroup called Far Corporation and produced cover versions of original songs.
The German musician also worked with other German-based bands such as Eruption and La Bouche.
Personal life
Farian and his girlfriend Chinya gave birth to their daughter in 2003. Prior to that he had married and divorced. He also had a daughter, who was born in 1980, from his first marriage.
