Career
In 1961, she made her debut in “Le Barbier de Séville,” where she played the role of Rosine in the stage play. Her TV debut was in the 1963 film “Le square.”
In 1965, the actress toured France and Russia with the “Théâtre du Rideau Vert.” She was then cast in two French films, “King of Hearts (1966)” and “The Thief of Paris.” However, her role as Anne Boleyn in the 1969 drama film “Anne of the Thousand Days” earned her initial international stardom.
Her famous Hollywood appearances are in the following films: “Swashbuckler (1976),” “Obsession (1976),” and “The Last Flight of Noah’s Ark (1980).”
Awards
In 1970 and 1973, she won the Best Actress Award at the Canadian Film Awards. In 1970, her role in “Anne of the Thousand Days” earned her the Best Actress in a Motion Picture & Drama honors at the Golden Globe awards.”
In 2018, Bujold was honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards.
