About James Frain
English actor James Frain landed his first film role (Peter Whistle in “Shadowlands”) after the director, Richard Attenborough saw him. He was still a drama school student at the time. He garnered critical acclaim two years later with his performance in the 1995 film, “Nothing Personal”. He has since become a household name through television roles such as Sarek in “Star Trek: Discovery”, Theo Galavan/Azrael in “Gotham”, Thomas Cromwell in “The Tudors” and Franklin Mott in “True Blood”.
Family Life
He was raised as the first of eight children in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex. His father was a stockbroker and his mother was a teacher. He has two children with film director Marta Cunningham, whom he married in 2004.
Achievements
He earned nominations from the Venice Film Festival and the Genie Awards in the 1990s. In 2008, he won a Drama Desk Award
