About Jim Rohn
Born Emanuel James Rohn, but popularly called Jim Rohn, he was an American motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur. Rohn's thought-provoking statements and quotes have been shared among millions of people across the globe.
Rohn was from Yakima, Washington. He was his parent's only child. During childhood, he lived in Caldwell, Idaho, where his family owned extensive farmlands.
He joined Nutri-Bio, a company co-owned by entrepreneur John Shoaff, in 1957. He excelled at Nutri-Bio and expanded the operations of the organization. In 1960, when Nutri-Bio was established in Canada, Rohn was selected as its vice president.
Rohn made his breakthrough as a motivational speaker in the 1960's when his Rotary Club invited him to speak at a general meeting. He did very well, and soon many people and companies asked him to speak at their events. During the 1970s, he spoke at several Standard Oil Seminars.
He mentored several great people, including Herbalife International's founder, Mark R. Hughes. He won an excellence award in speaking at the National Speakers Association CPAE Awards of 1985. He wrote about 17 audio, video, and handwritten media.
He died at age 79 after battling pulmonary fibrosis.
