John Wesley Harding, an English folk/pop singer and songwriter who draws inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan and Ray Davies, has penned numerous chart-topping songs to establish himself as a mainstream singer-songwriter.
Early Life
Although he was born Wesley Stace, he adopted the stage name John Wesley Harding from Bob Dylan's 1967 album of the same name, adding the letter "g" to make it stand out. He attended The King's School, and Jesus College, University of Cambridge.
Career
With the 1988 live album "It Happened One Night", he made his recording debut. The album received positive reviews and led to a deal with Sire Records.
His debut book, "Misfortune", was released in 2005 under his given name, Wesley Stace, and it was a finalist for the Guardian First Book Award. He has published more than three novels and has released over 16 albums.
