Paul Whitehouse, in full Paul Julian Whitehouse, is an iconic Welsh actor, comedian and writer. The star has over 25 years of experience as a comedian and has won several BAFTA, Writer's Guild and British Comedy Awards. Whitehouse is best known for his performances on the BBC sketch comedy "The Fast Show".
Background & Early Life
He was born in Stanleytown, Glamorgan in Wales. He briefly enrolled at the University of East Anglia and read development studies. However, he eventually dropped out of college and turned his full attention to his music career. During college, he also met his long-term partner Charlie Higson. Both eventually stopped writing music and began to write comedy, following inspirations from comedy gurus Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.
Career Highlights
In 1982, he formed a fantastic writing collaboration with Harry Enfield and Charlie Higson, resulting in the brilliant 1990 "Harry Enfield Television Program".
He co-created "The Fast Show" for BBC TV in 1994. Between 1996 and 1998, it received a BAFTA, a Royal Television Award and two British Comedy Awards.
In 2007 of the second season of his show with Harry Enfield, "Harry & Paul", premiered on BBC1 and won a BAFTA Award in 2009.
His popular sitcom "Nurse" premiered on BBC2 in 2015.
Personal Life
As of 2021, he had three daughters and married twice.
