About Philip Michael Thomas
Philip Michael Thomas started his acting sensation in the 1972 film titled “Come Back, Charleston Blue”, acting alongside Godfrey Cambridge. He is most famous for his starring as detective Rico in the crime drama series “Miami Vice”.
Acting Career
After stepping into the acting scene in the early 1970s Thomas began to establish a name in the industry through appearances in such productions like 1975’s crime drama film “Coonskin” and 1976’s musical drama film “Sparkle”. He starred as Randy and Stix, respectively in the said films.
On television, the Ohio-born star is also appreciated for his work in “Detective Extralarge”, playing Jean Philippe Dumas together with Bud Spencer and Michael Winslow. He was a member of the cast of the Italian drama series titled “Noi siamo angeli”.
In 1997 he joined the cast of “Nash Bridges”, appearing as Cedrick Hawks.
In addition to the above-noted roles, Thomas has also been featured on video games. He provided his voice to the video game character Lance Vance in the action-adventure game, “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City”.
Music Career
On top of his acting profession, Thomas also has a big passion for music. He established a career in music and released his first album in 1985 titled "Living the Book of My Life". He dropped a second album in 1986 named “Somebody”.
He wrote his first song when he was just 11 years old.
Family Life
From the period of 1986 to 1998 the actor was married to Kassandra. Their marriage, which ended divorce, produced 5 children. In addition to his children with Kassandra, he is also noted for having other children from other affairs including two daughters with Sheila Dewindt, an actress.
He was brought up in San Bernardino, California. He is a child of Louis Diggs and Lulu McMorris.
