About Rey Misterio Sr.
Rey Misterio was the ring name of Miguel Ángel López Díaz, a Mexican former professional wrestler and wrestling trainer. He initially trained in boxing but had to give up on the sport after his increased body size became a disadvantage to him. He switched to wrestling following a recommendation and made his professional debut in January 1976. He fought in promotions such as Tijuana Wrestling, World Wrestling Association, Xtreme Latin American Wrestling, and World Wrestling Organization.
Family Life
He is the father of wrestler El Hijo de Rey Misterio. Wrestlers Metalika and Rey Mysterio are his nephews. Wrestler Super Astro is his brother-in-law.
Achievements
He was inducted into the Tijuana Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. He also won the WWO World Championship and the World Wrestling Association’s World Junior Light Heavyweight Championship.

He appeared in “El Mascarado Massacre”, a horror film.
