About Sam Levenson
The American journalist and television personality was the presenter of “The Sam Levenson Show” from 1959 to 1964. He was also a contributor on the CBS Clifton Fadiman-hosted series “This Is Show Business” with American author Abe Burrows and dramatist George S. Kaufman.
Levenson was also a best-selling author and wrote books such as “Sex and the Single Child”, “You Can Say That Again, Sam!” and “You Don’t Have to be in Who’s Who to Know What’s What”.
Family
He wed Esther Levine in 1910 and they remained married until 1999. He fathered two children: Emily and Conrad.
Broadcasting Career
Levenson began hosting the last season of the American game show “Two for the Money” as a replacement to American comedian Herb Shriner in 1956.
He also appeared as a guest host on the American game show “The Price Is Right”, which was produced by Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. He contributed to other television shows such as “What’s My Line”, which aired on CBS.
The television personality also made some film appearances, performing a cameo role in the 1957 American satirical drama film “A Face in the Crowd” directed by Elia Kazan. He was also a regular face on the late-night talk show “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”.
